Today, in addition to editing the galleys, I have enjoyed the ripe figs from the fig bush that threatens to take over the world. From a twig it is taller than the house, provides a repast for the morning feeding birds and provides entertainment for the pesky gray squirrel who enjoys picking off the green ones and rolling them around the driveway...he has to go. His presence is no longer welcomed in the fig bush....by the birds...or by me. He is being wasteful...and we happen to like figs.
Today I have enjoyed watching the little boys next door who have opened their first lemonade stand. Their first sale was exciting. They danced around, whooped, got ready for the next customer and took turns holding their first dollar. Exciting stuff!
And then a golfcart load of folks stopped for lemonade. I wonder how those little boys might be at selling books.
Be happy!
